| VIP is a multi award winning abuse prevention programme for children, young people and vulnerable adults throughout the UK. It works on three levels:- Simply put, our aims are to:- To ensure the programme’s success throughout the UK, we need support from teachers and schools, parents, agencies, government, local authorities, potential funders and the media. We are running a Conference on 9th October 2008 at West Park Conference Centre in Dundee entitled 'Violence is Preventable - What really works'. This is a joint conference between Eighteen And Under and the Centre of Child Care and Protection, University Of Dundee, looking at what actually works when trying to prevent violence in society. Speakers include:Prof Keith Topping – Professor of Educational & Social Research Dr Sarah Nelson – Researcher Prof Brigid Daniel - University of Stirling Ian Barron – Teaching Fellow University of Dundee Lily Greenan – Manager of Scottish Women’s Aid Cost is £90 for Statutories and £70 for Voluntaries. In addition, Eighteen And under will provide full training for any agency or school who wishes to run the VIP programmes.
